Handing your teen the keys is a big step. Here's exactly what the state requires, what we teach, and what it costs — so there are no surprises.
Teens aged 15 to 17 must complete a state-approved driver training course before they can be licensed. That course has three required parts, and we cover all of them:
The course must run at least 30 days, and it cannot be self-paced. Every student in a session moves through the same lessons together, which is why our classes run on set schedules rather than letting students pick dates.
Alongside our course, the state requires your teen to log 50 hours of supervised driving practice, including 10 hours at night, with a driver who has held a valid license for at least five years. That's usually you.
This is separate from our behind-the-wheel hours and can't be completed with us — but it's where a lot of real learning happens. Starting early, in quiet areas, makes a noticeable difference by test day.
Our Teen Driving course is $675 plus tax, and that covers the full 30 classroom hours, 6 driving hours, the observation hour, and two attempts at the written exam. There are no hidden fees.
Payment plans through Affirm and Klarna are available at checkout, so the cost can be spread over time. We also offer a discount for partner school districts — contact us to ask whether your school qualifies.
Because your teen is under 18, their first license is an Intermediate License with restrictions during the first year:
Washington sets strict time requirements, so attendance isn't optional. Students may miss no more than 3 classes, and any missed session must be made up through our approved make-up curriculum. If your teen is going to miss a class, let us know as early as you can.
Most of what parents ask is covered on our FAQ page — costs, scheduling, testing, and our cancellation policy. If you'd rather just talk it through, call us on (253) 487-7522.
Classes run on set schedules and seats are limited. Take a look at the current sessions and reserve a place.
